SENIORS
Senior Meetings- The counselors and Mrs. Cunnie have met with seniors in small groups in the College and Career Center during the week of October 13th.  We reviewed important information that all senior should know regarding high school graduation, transcripts requests, SAT and ACT score reporting, NCAA eligibility, college application process, College and Career Center services, ROP Programs, and Financial Aid.  Please log into Prep HQ from the San Marin website and go to “Shared Files” to download the Senior Meeting PowerPoint presentation.

Letters of Recommendation- Seniors who need a letter of recommendation from their counselor for college and/or scholarships need to make an appointment with their counselor to complete a Counselor Recommendation Packet.  Please give your counselor at least 20 days prior to the first deadline.

JUNIORS
Now is a great time to start exploring post-high school options. Encourage your child to begin researching colleges, technical schools, and trade schools.  There are many resources in the College and Career Center to help you get started.  Communication between parents and students is so important in deciding which alternative to pursue.  If your student is considering college, what criteria has he/she set in terms of a major, location, cost, and size?  What type of employment would your child like to gain after high school and how can he/she prepare now?  Students and parents are encouraged to contact the Counseling Office or College and Career Center to find information about each option and the necessary steps to pursue each.
