"Crazy For You" Opens on March 6 at San Marin High School -  March 6,7,8 and 13,14,15 Tickets For Sale at Front Office or from Music Students - Make Sure You Put the Music Student's Name on the Tickets - the student gets credits for tickets sold.

  (See Pictures Below)Over 100 students and parents are preparing for the upcoming production of “Crazy For You’, the spring musical at San Marin High.  The winner of three Tony Awards (including Best Musical), Crazy For You is a high energy comedy which includes mistaken identity, plot twists, fabulous dance numbers and classic Gershwin music.  

The show opens on March 6 for two weekends.  The Friday and Saturday shows begin at 8PM and the Sunday Matinees start at 2PM.  Tickets can be purchased at the San Marin office for $8 in advance.  Tickets at the door are $10 and reserved seats are available for Saturday performances for $25.

"Crazy For You" has come full circle at San Marin.  When San Marin Music first performed it in 2000, Samantha Maas-Baldwin and Kate Kenyon were two of the featured performers.  Now Samantha, a full time music teacher at San Marin is assistant director, and Kate, a dance teacher at San Marin is the show’s choreographer.  San Marin was also able to use a car and truck that were built by Harold Bexton and crew for the 2000 show in this year’s production.

Crazy For You is the story of Bobby Child, a well-to-do 1930's playboy, who's dream in life is to dance on stage.  And despite the serious efforts of his mother and fiancée, Bobby achieves his dream!  The story takes place in New York City high society and in Deadrock, Nevada where we find a slow paced life and singing cowboys.  Crazy For You includes the memorable Gershwin tunes I Can't Be Bothered Now, Bidin' My Time, I Got Rhythm, Naughty Baby, They Can't Take That Away from Me, But Not for Me, Nice Work if You Can Get It, Embraceable You and Someone to Watch Over Me.

Many of the leading roles are double cast:  Bobby, son of a banker, is played by Christoper Zander and Cooper Taggard.  Polly, the object of his affection, is portrayed by Alex Wallace and Julia Gorman.  Polly’s father is played by Christian Lowrie.  Rae Davoren and Maddy Richter play Irene, Bobby’s fiancée.  Mr. Fodor is played by Nathaniel Traktman and Mrs. Fodor is double cast with Kyla Ainsworth and Haley Stoddard.  Nathaniel MacMillan plays Broadway producer Bella Zangler and Christian Stranne plays saloon owner Lank Hawkins.  Bobby’s mother is portrayed by Alisha Hodges.  Cowboys include Michael Biancaniello, Dillon Gradl, Ryan Rohtla, Matt Wainwright, Steven Jun, Nick Elsmore, Cameron McNally and Eric Huang.  Showgirls include Valerie Oga, Miriam McQuade, Anna Mazzariello, Sara Garcia-Cotter, Brooke Watkins, Cali Willis, Isabel Block, Nicole Lesnett, Rochelle Craig, Amanda McQuade, Brittany Savage, Caroline Carlin, Cindy Bower, Corrin Dove, Laura Jacob, Natalie Oga, Shannon Ainsworth, Adri Nichelini, Leslie Apperson, Megan Caldwell, Mel Hart, Monica Klinkman, and Nina Kao and Sarah Marthinsen.

Orchestra members include students Elizabeth Castro Abrams, Anna paula de Torres, Seth Ely, Nina Kao, Samantha Block, Nathaniel Traktman, Michael Beach, Michael Grech, Alex Reed, Dillon Gradl and Danny Zagunis as well as parents Eliana and Doug Ely.

Stage Manager is Melissa Forbush with Stacie Vance, assistant stage manager.  The tech crew students include Ryan Barry, Sam Block, Juliana Combs, Elliot Davoren, Erika Eide, Chris Guempel, Sara Haugen, Marvin Ho, Hannah Husen, Cody Meyers, Makaila Overfield, Karl Pfeifer, Maggie Regis, Clark Steward, Alexandra Vierra Watson, and Chris West.  Head Costumer is student Sara Jones.

The show is directed by Pat Nims.  Producer and Music Director is Emily Gates.  Technical Director and volunteer coordinator is Marty Garcia-Cotter.  Many parents and volunteers have given up their Saturdays for the past two months to help the students with the elaborate two story sets required by the production.
