The mission of the San Marin High School Library Media Center is to ensure that students and staff are effective users of ideas and information. The school library is an integral part of the school academic program. The school library supports the educational curriculum, fosters reading and literacy in all students, and teaches patrons how to locate, evaluate, synthesize and effectively use the information.

To accomplish these objectives, the library staff provides a diverse collection of resources which represents various points of view in current and historical issues and meets a variety of interest and ability levels.

• Provides materials that reflect ethnic culture, language, and racial background.
• Provides instruction with all forms of information-gathering, including print, non print, and electronic and online material.
• Recommends materials for assignments and leisure reading
