Jay Potter, San Marin High tennis coach the past six years, has been selected as the 2009 North Coast Section CIF Girls' Tennis Honor Coach.
He was selected for "maintenance of professional standards; general service to the respective sport; outstanding coaching accomplishments, and contributions to the school and community."
The award was presented at the NCS singles and doubles championships at Santa Rosa High; and there will also be a story on his selection in the NCS Prep Magazine.
"This was a big surprise and I am very honored to be recognized by the North Coast Section," said Potter, who previously coached at Sonoma State and is currently director of tennis at Rolling Hills. "I have loved working with so many girls over the last six years and helping them to learn, improve, enjoy the game, and take away lasting memories from their high school careers." |
