The award winning San Marin Drama Departmentwill present a heart- warming, funnynew play Almost, Maine, April 30, May 1,2,7, 8 10(see details of time and dates below). This wonderful play involves nine different stories about love. They all happen at 9:00 pm on a cold, clear January night in the mythical town of Almost, Maine just as the northern lights appear in the sky. This play will be one of San Marin Drama's most exciting productions as it incorporates comedy, heartbreak and romance. The play is a fresh alternative to the typical production with its varied stories keeping the audience intrigued throughout.
Drama teacher and Director, Linda Kislingbury says, "I haven't seen students so excited about a play in a long time. The script is brilliant. It has been a joy to direct because students quickly learned their lines so they could concentrate on characterization. You will feel the emotions of actors as they go through their experiences. This will be a production you don't want to miss."
Student Assistant Director, Julia Gorman is also quite excited about the play. This award winning actress (gold medalfor best actress at Lenaea Drama competition in January) appears in one scene in the play but has really enjoyed helping to direct the show."It's a wonderful experience working from another angle on the production."Darcy Buss, is co-student assistant director with Julia and (and was a bronze medal winner at Lenaea and also appears in a scene in the play). She says, "I never really understood what a responsibility it is to assistant direct a play.I know I have learned leadership skills in the last several months that I will use in the future."
