2008 Madrigal Feast Behind the Scene Thank Yous
At San Marin High School, where home economics is no longer a part of the curriculum, music students recently had the opportunity to attend a workshop to make their costumes for The Madrigal Feast which will be held Dec. 5, 6 & 7. Students learned to cut patterns, iron their fabric and use a sewing machine – with the help of several music parents. Some students made their entire costume on the day of the workshop! The Madrigal Feast is an evening of feasting and medieval entertainment and takes place in the Emily Gates Student Center, which will be transformed to resemble an old English castle. Students – dressed in period costume and using the dialect of the period – serve a meal, entertain the guests and perform an original play. The night ends with a choral concert. Reservations for the evening must be made in advance. San Marin music students have reservation forms or you may also pick one up in the school office. Reservations are accepted by mail only. The $25 ticket includes Wassail, chicken or vegetarian dinner, and flaming pudding – along with two hours of non-stop entertainment!
